SAFETY &
LICENSING.
Important: independent rental is only available to customers whose qualification can be accepted under the applicable rules and the rental operator’s insurance conditions. Sending a booking request does not guarantee acceptance.
A recognized licence is required
The person operating each jet ski must present an original, valid nautical or personal-watercraft qualification. Recognition can depend on the issuing country, the licence category, Spanish and Canary Islands regulations, insurance requirements and the planned operating conditions.
We do not state that any particular foreign licence is automatically accepted. Please tell us exactly which licence you hold and upload the requested verification documents for every participant when requesting a booking. We review them before confirmation.
No licence yet?
Freedom Jet Ski offers an intensive one-day course for €150, with the licence issued in as little as 24 hours. It is designed for recognition across Europe, but acceptance still depends on the issuing authority and the rules of the country, waters and activity where it will be used. Ask us to verify the details before enrolling.
One qualified operator per jet ski
If you request two jet skis, the operating requirements apply to each person who will drive. Passengers remain subject to the vehicle’s permitted capacity, safety equipment and operating conditions.
Safety briefing
Before departure, customers receive a practical briefing covering the controls, emergency stop lanyard, life vest, safe distances, local hazards, communications, the permitted navigation area, return procedure and what to do if conditions change.
Weather and sea conditions
The Atlantic can change quickly. The operator may delay, alter, postpone or cancel a departure when wind, swell, visibility or another safety factor makes the planned rental unsuitable. Independent riding never means ignoring operational instructions or official restrictions.
Navigation limits
Your permitted area will be explained before departure. It depends on the licence, insurance, rental authorization, fuel range, weather, sea state, daylight and any temporary restrictions. Images of Tenerife locations are inspirational and do not promise that a particular destination will be accessible on your date.
Fuel, return and equipment
The jet ski is supplied with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank under the agreed procedure. Wear the supplied safety equipment, attach the emergency lanyard while operating, follow speed and distance rules, and return at the agreed time.
Damage excess
Standard protection has a €1,000 damage excess per jet ski. The optional €30-per-jet-ski zero-excess waiver reduces that stated excess to €0, subject to the final rental agreement and its exclusions. It never replaces safe operation or compliance with the briefing.
Medical and personal responsibility
Tell us before confirmation about any circumstance that may affect safe participation. Never operate under the influence of alcohol, drugs or impairing medication. The final rental agreement and safety briefing contain the binding requirements for your ride.
